Marketing and Events Intern
St. Charles Business Alliance – Paid Summer Internship
The St. Charles Business Alliance is a volunteer-driven 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to enhancing the economic vitality of St. Charles. With an eight-person staff, four committees, and an active Board of Directors, the Alliance drives tourism, promotes the community, organizes large-scale events, and supports the continued revitalization of Downtown St. Charles.
Position Overview
We’re looking for a motivated, creative self-starter to assist with marketing and event planning throughout the summer. This internship provides hands-on experience in communications, social media, and event execution within a highly active community organization.
Key Responsibilities

Manage the STC Live! summer music program, including communicating with and booking local bands and venues.

Attend STC Live! on Wednesday and Friday evenings, coordinating band set-up, managing First Street logistics, and assisting staff as needed.

Attendance required from 5-8 p.m. on event days.

Attend and support 6 required Unwind Wednesdays events, assisting with set-up, on-site activation, vendor coordination, and general event operations.

Attendance required from 5-9 p.m. on event days.

Update and maintain STC Live! social media promotions, website listings, Travel St. Charles app updates, and communicate updates to the marketing team.

Collaborate with staff on new ideas, content direction, and marketing initiatives.

Perform additional tasks and projects assigned.
Qualifications

Strong understanding of social media platforms and trends.

Working toward or recently completed a degree in Marketing/Communications, Event Planning, Public Relations, English, or a related field.

Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Photoshop/Canva skills strongly preferred.

Bonus skills: HTML, graphic design, photography, or videography.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to interact professionally with community partners, press, and the general public.
