Super Bowl LVII: Where to Get Staple Kansas City and Philadelphia Dishes Here in St. Charles, IL

The day that all football fans have had circled on their calendar is almost here! Super Bowl LVII is taking place on Sunday, February 12th. This year, the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Philadelphia Eagles in Glendale, Arizona in a battle to see who can take home the Lombardi Trophy. While this is set to be a terrific game, everybody knows that no Super Bowl party is complete without great foods to snack on when the game kicks-off. Both Philadelphia and Kansas City are known to have fantastic food staples in their city, so here is how you can get your hands on some of these popular eats that you can serve at your Super Bowl party right here in St. Charles, Illinois.

Philadelphia - Philly Cheesesteak

The Philly Cheesesteak has been a Philadelphia tradition since the 1930's, and is a perfect hot sandwich to indulge in during this Super Bowl, especially if you're rooting for Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles. Swing by Franky's Red Hots for their take on the Philly Cheesesteak, as theirs have all the delicious ingredients you'd find on a traditional Philly Cheesesteak, however, it's all laying on slices garlic bread. You can also head over to the Filling Station Pub & Grill for their version that contains 6oz. of ribeye steak, along with peppers, cheese, and onions.

Kansas City - Barbeque

There aren't many better combinations than Barbeque and football. Since the 1920's, this has been one of Kansas City's signature cuisines. You can find some terrific ribs at Crazy Fox Bar & Grill that are rubbed and slow-roasted, and served with fries and coleslaw. Looking for an incredible barbeque sandwich? Try The Tap House Grill's BBQ Pork Shoulder Trio Sliders that are loaded with slow-roasted pulled pork, and topped with crispy haystack onion strings.

Philadelphia - Soft Pretzel

Soft pretzels are a salty tradition to enjoy during any sporting event, and you can find some excellent ones here in St. Charles. Head over to Riverside Pizza & Pub, where you can find soft pretzels that are absolutely enormous, and so good to share. Alter Brewing + Kitchen also serves a 24 oz. giant pretzel that you can dip in their delectable ale & bacon cheese.

Kansas City - Kansas City Strip Steak

If you're really pulling for Patrick Mahomes to lead the Kansas City Chiefs to a Super Bowl victory, there's no better way to root for them than with a steak. A New York Strip Steak is the same cut of meat as a Kansas City Strip Steak, minus the bone. Try St. Charles Place Steakhouse, not only for their delicious steaks, but also for the wonderful dining experience they offer. Their New York Strip is hand-selected, aged 40 days, and served with mushrooms. Spotted Fox Ale House is another great option to get a steak, and you can get their prime New York Strip served with vegetables, and a twice baked potato.

Philadelphia - Hoagies

In Illinois, hoagies are more commonly referred to as subs, but that doesn't take away from the fact that they are just as delicious, and make for a fantastic game day snack. You can grab an Italian Sub from Bezos Sandwich Shop, along with a wide variety of other subs, as well. Pomodoro E Mozzarella is another great option to grab either a hot or cold Italian Sub on their fresh-baked bread. Make sure to grab a pizza from there, as well, as they were just ranked in the top 50 for best pizza spots in the United States and Canada by Yelp.

Kansas City - Fried Chicken

Fried chicken may be known as southern dish, but Kansas City has a reputation of being one of the best spots to get that savory food. You can find some delicious fried chicken in St. Charles, just west of downtown at Brown's Chicken. Brown's Chicken also offers catering with different size packages so you can be sure you have enough chicken and sides for the big game. If you like your fried chicken to be wings, stop by Rookies All-American Pub & Grill, where you can get your wings and choose from a wide array of sauces and dry rubs. You can also indulge in their chicken finger basket, or chicken and waffles, as well.
