Memorial Day Weekend is one of our favorite weekends here at the St. Charles Business Alliance for a few different reasons. One of which being that the renowned St. Charles Fine Art Show takes place on that Saturday and Sunday. And, with a long Memorial Day Weekend, it's a great opportunity to spend some quality time with your friends and family, taking advantage of the beautiful weather and making memories together. It is also a chance to honor and commemorate the sacrifices of those who have served. Elgin Community College Emerging Artists Tent

In addition to the 100+ Fine Artists that will have booths at this show, you can also discover creative pieces from extremely talented Elgin Community College Students at the Emerging Artists Tent located in the Jeep Activity Zone. From pottery to paintings, they'll be showcasing their one-of-a-kind pieces all weekend long for you to admire and purchase. Don't miss your chance to support these aspiring Student Artists!


Award Winners Announcement

One of the most exciting aspects of the St. Charles Fine Art Show is the announcement of the award winners. There are a total of 10 awards presented, including six "Awards of Excellence," three "Judges Awards," and the prestigious "Best of Show." The award ceremony begins around 2pm on Saturday, May 25th, as the judges visit each of the winner's booth presenting them with the good news. Free Water

Memorial Weekend can sometimes get a little toasty. So, make sure that you are getting plenty of water and grab a reusable aluminum water bottle as you enter the show, thanks to Theriault Booth LLC. Attorney's at Law. This is the second year that we will be handing these out, with this year having a brand new design. We recommend that if you want one, that you make sure to get there early because there is only a limited quantity! Once you've finished your water, you can go refill it at one of the refillable water bottle stations, thanks to Culligan Water. Memorial Day Events

On Monday, May 27th, the City of St. Charles is hosting a series of events to

commemorate Memorial Day to honor those who have served. The day kicks-off at 6am at the Baker Community Center with the Flag Raising and Cemetery Ceremonies. Following the Ceremonies is the Memorial Day Parade that you can catch at 10am. This parade route will step off at 6th Street, and will continue down Main Street to end at Riverside Avenue. After the parade concludes, there will be a special memorial service at the Freedom Shrine along the Fox River, near the former St. Charles Police Department. FREE concerts throughout the summer? Yes, please! STC Live! begins June 5th, and is a series of free live music performances on the 1st Street Plaza and at various businesses every Wednesday and Friday from 6pm to 7:30pm.
