2022 Made in St. Charles Recipient: Broken Brix Winery & Cidery

Creating your own libations and tasting other individual's craft has become a favorite activity of many people. In 1990, Ed Seaman wanted to create a spot where they could provide home beer and wine makers with all the equipment and supplies you'd need to brew at home, so he opened up Broken Brix Homebrew Shop. Fast-forward to 2018, and the newest edition of Broken Brix was created - Broken Brix Winery & Cidery.

The idea of Broken Brix Winery and Cidery was to provide a welcoming space where you can enjoy local wine, cider, mead, and more. However, it's not just any wine, cider, and mead, it's beverages that they craft themselves. It's a wonderful environment to not only try beverages that Ed has created, but to also try other import and local beers, and local wine. After chatting with the Seaman's, you quickly realize just how passionate and knowledgeable they are about this industry. Staying local is very important to them, and they try to use local products whenever possible and feature other products that are made locally.

Being part of St. Charles for over 30 years has really made Broken Brix a staple in this community. They are appreciative for the many great people that have become customers over the years to support their business. It's exciting to see what other beverages they will create and ultimately be able to share with others.
