The annual St. Charles Jazz Weekend is almost here - a four-day celebration of live jazz filling venues across town. This year's lineup is bigger than ever, with more than 40 performances to enjoy at local establishments, making it a can't-miss for any music enthusiast. While we hope you'll explore as many shows as possible (and support the fantastic businesses hosting them), we've put together a spotlight on five standout performances you'll definitely want to mark on your calendar.
Andy Schlinder & Samuel Wyatt - Alter Brewing + Kitchen | Friday, September 12th | 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM
The first can't-miss performance on our list features two exceptional artists playing at Alter Brewing + Kitchen who have already who over audiences here in St. Charles. Saxophonist Andy Schlinder, who began his craft at a young age, brings plenty of experience from previously touring with the legendary Glenn Miller Orchestra and Tommy Dorsey Orchestra. Joining him is very talented keyboardist Samuel Wyatt, creating a duo that is sure to be a crowd favorite at this year's event.
Tina Jenkins Crawley - Moonlight Theatre | Friday, September 12th | 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM

We're also thrilled to welcome back award-winning Jazz-Soul artist Tina Jenkins Crawley for her second year at the beautiful Moonlight Theatre. This year, she'll be paying tribute to the legendary Anita Baker - a performance you won't want to miss. Last year's show sold out quickly, so be sure to grab your tickets early. In addition to sharing the stage with icons like Jennifer Lopez and Celine Dion, Tina has also been featured on the hit Fox series, Empire.

Haley Reinhart - Club Arcada | Friday, September 12th | 8:30 PM

Chicago-born and Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter, Haley Reinhart, is a must-see at this year's Jazz Weekend. Returning to Club Arcada, the Season 10 American Idol third-place finalist will be performing timeless classics that are sure to leave you in awe. Can't make it to her first show? No worries - Haley will also take the stage at Club Arcada on the following two evenings.

Frank Catalano - The House Pub | Friday, September 12th | 9:30 PM
No St. Charles Jazz Weekend would be complete without a performance from Grammy-nominated saxophonist Frank Catalano. Known to millions through both his own albums and collaborations with stars like Beyoncé, John Legends, and Billy Corgan, just to name a few. If you can’t catch him at The House Pub on Friday night, don’t worry—he’ll also be performing at The Filling Station Pub & Grill on Thursday at 6:00 PM, and returning to The House Pub on Saturday at 9:30 PM.

Matt Ulery Quintet - Hunt House Creative Arts Center | Saturday, September 13th | 8:00 PM - 10:00 PM

Chicago-based bassist, composer, and bandleader Matt Ulery is one artist we’re especially thrilled to feature at this year’s Jazz Weekend. With over 25 years of performing experience, he has released 15 critically acclaimed albums of original music and worked alongside a wide range of bassists. When he’s not touring throughout the U.S. and Europe, Matt can be found performing across the Chicago music scene—including a set at Hunt House Creative Arts Center on Saturday, September 13th.
